New Delhi, April 29 Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday appointed Madhusudan Mistry as member of the party’s central election authority (CEA), which is headed by Mullapally Ramachandran.

Apart from Ramachandran and Mistry, the CEA will also include Bhubaneshwar Kalita as a member.

The advisory committee to the CEA will have party MP Shamsher Singh Dullo and former MPs Ashk Ali Tak and Biren Singh Engti as members.

A party release said that since Mistry has become a member of the CEA, he will not hold any organisational post as per the party constitution.

CEA has the responsibility to conduct party elections. The Congress has drawn up a schedule of its delayed organisational polls with election of party chief expected to be completed by October 15.
