Ministry of Tribal Affairs and TRIFED felicitates World Boxing Champion Mary Kom in Delhi!

New Delhi: Boxing Legend, Mary Kom, recently won her 6th Women’s World Boxing Championship gold, breaking all previous records of Gold Medals won by any women boxer anywhere in the world.
On Friday, Ministry of Tribal Affairs and TRIFED felicitated Mary Kom. The Union Minister for Tribal Affairs presented her with a cheque of Rs. 20.00 Lakhs, a tribute to her unflinching efforts and hard work to win her 6th Women’s World Championship, a World Record.
To celebrate her achievement and dedication and hard work, Ministry of Tribal Affairs and TRIFED also honoured her and her family at Aadi Mahaotsav organised at Dilli Haat, INA, New Delhi with the closing ceremony.
The facilitation ceremony presided over by JualOram, Minister for Tribal Affairs, in the august presence Ministers of State for Tribal Affairs, Jaswantsinh Sumanbhai Bhabor and Sudarshan Bhagat and more than 1000 tribal artisans from more than 20 States, showcased various art, crafts and cuisines.
Speaking on the occasion, Pravir Krishna, MD TRIFED, “We are very happy to felicitate Mary Kom on the special occasion of Aadi Mahotsav and we are really committed to upgrade the life of Trible community at large with this kind of events, In 15 days Aadi Mahotsav had generated a business worth Rs. 16 Crores for the tribal artisans”
Thanking everyone, Boxing Champion Mary Kom said, “I’m really honored to be here. I thank Ministry of Tribal Affairs and TRIFED for felicitating me. To achieve this I have worked really hard. I would not have achieved the kind of title and all without everyone’s blessings. People support gives me more strength to keep fighting.”
