NMRC Metro Coaches Wait for Transfer at Mumbai Harbor as Authorities Delay Payment

Metro coaches made in China have arrived at Jawahar Lal nehru Port, Mumbai and are awaiting transfer to Noida from about last month. As per sources the transfer is delayed because of lack of funds with the Authorities.

As per sources Noida and Greater Noida authority have to give 100 crore rupees to NMRC for to get these coaches to the designated area in the district. For the purpose Noida authority has to give 70 crore rupees and Greater Noida authority will add another 30 crore.

The metro trial is scheduled to begin from December and it is extremely necessary for coaches to now arrive without any delay to prepare them for the purpose. However Greater Noida authority is going through severe cash crunch and is in a debt of over 7000 crore. The authority is also paying about 60 crore to banks every month in form of interest.

As per sources Noida authority is ready to release its share of 70 crore rupees but Greater Noida Authority was lagging in payment. However now the senior official of the Greater Noida Authority claim that money for this purpose has been allocated and formalities for earliest transfer of Metro coaches will be completed soon.

Around 350 coaches belonging to NMRC are awaiting transfer to the city.
