Making its stand clear on Jewar Airport land acquisition, Uttar Pradesh government has clarified that on any circumstances farmers will not be given four times compensation of the circle rate. Government has agreed to offer the compensation with a rate of 2300 rupees per square meter which is already three time of the circle rate of 900 rupees per meter.
Making this deal more flexible government has offered them option that if they will take compensation on 2300 /sq meter they will be given a job, five lakh for house and 50 sq meter land plot for rehabilitation. Otherwise they may be able to take compensation with rate of 2500 sq meter.

On Wednesday a meeting was held in Gautam Budha University where Dr Prabhat Kumar, Chairman Yamuna authority tried to explain the benefits farmer will have after the development of Jewar Airport. He said that “the farmers will get new jobs and business opportunity in the region as the region will witness rapid development”.

Talking to farmers he added, “Not only you but your future generation will also be benefitted with this. With the rate of 2500 sq / meter you will get 2.5 cores for one hectare land and after depositing the amount in bank you can get 20 lakhs annually as interest. This amount is far more than the amount farmers generate from farming in the region as land here is also not very fertile.”

He also put a full stop over the rumors of force full acquisition of land by stating that CM is very clear that land will only be acquired with the consent of farmers. “We are in the process of creating a consensus over the issue. But if it got failed then the project may got shifted to other site which will be a great loss for the region”.

He asked farmers to make a final call in seven days over the issue, as the state government had got a time period of 15 days from Aviation ministry to fix this issue of land acquisition. If the government fails in doing so then the project will be transferred to another state.

Now over this half of the farmers had agreed but some who are being said to be those who had brought land from farmers earlier for profiteering are allegedly misleading the farmers and asking for four time compensation.
