A  MBBS admission racket is under surveillance by district police that is still active in Delhi-ncr  region and is allegedly said to be making enrolments for the academic year 2018-19, following a complaint made by five parents on Wednesday that they have been asked for  nearly 40 lakh by an admission providing agency in Sector 18, Noida.

The parents alleged that they had been getting messages and calls from these fake agencies promising admission to their wards in private and government medical colleges across the country for the next academic sessionOne of the text messages received by an MBBS aspirant read; Book confirm MBBS seat for 2018 top medical college in (Saptagiri, BGS, Global, JMM, MVJ, Rajeshwari, JSS, KLE, Devraj etc) Karnataka.

One of the parents from Kapurthala, who does not want to be named, said, “I received a call from an education consultancy in Pitampura about MBBS seats on sale for academic session 2018-19. The caller claimed to provide admission into any private medical college of our choice in the country. The caller said candidates with low NEET scores could also get admission in a private medical college of their choice.”The parent has lodged an FIR in Gautam Budh Nagar in September this year regarding the MBBS racket operational in Sector 18.

“Later, when my son’s name did not appear in the final list announced by the college, I tried approaching the agency, but it was already shut. I tried reaching their phone numbers, but they are also not reachable,” the parent said. There are many people who are falling prey to these fake agencies. So far, five parents have approached the senior superintendent of police to brief  him on the matter.

Speaking on the issue, SSP Love Kumar said, “We have put the accused’s phone numbers under technical surveillance, but so far, no lead has been obtained in the case. Now, we shall go after the banks where the demand drafts were encased to get leads into the case.”Police sources revealed that the scam may run into several crores, as they had received many complaints in this regard.
