A senior official said that apart from automatic number plate recognition cameras, we were installing the highly sophisticated cameras that can read traffic volume and understand traffic signal so that they signal can work according to traffic volume will also be installed.
For example, the registration number of the vehicle, whose driver is found jumping a red light; driving a four-wheeler without wearing seat belt; or a two-wheeler without a helmet, will be captured by the camera.
“We are focused on installing cameras on those intersections that have a heavy flow of vehicles. The e-challans will be sent to the person concerned with the details of the violation committed by them. Penalising them will also help in bringing down the rate of traffic rules violation. Over a period of time, a sense of road safety will automatically develop among commuters,” said superintendent of police (traffic) Anil Kumar Jha.
Sources said the cameras will be installed near Spice Mall in Sector 25A, Noida Stadium in Sector 21, Atta Peer, Sector 49 intersection, Sector 71 intersection and Sector 67 intersection.
In the last one month, cameras have already been installed at the intersections in sectors 57, 27 and 31. For now cameras are running on a trial basis for two weeks before they are put to permanent use. Fines will be imposed once the trial phase is over, sources said.

Recently, its been found that government buses were not halting at the designated stops and were being parked randomly. The officials concerned were informed and the problem was resolved,” Jha said.
