Noida Sector 48 Residents pave way for encroachment free Noida, get NGT order to make sector green again!

Charity, rightly begins at home and so does the initiatives to make one’s city or country better. With thought, similar to this, a handful of residents from sector-48 Noida, took it upon themselves to make their sector free from encroachment.

Apparently, Noida sector 48 witnesses large amount of encroachment on Green belt. While this encroachment certainly thwarts the purpose of green belt, it also paves way for large amount of illegal activities. To resolve the issue, sector 48 residents approached NGT and managed to get a favorable order.

In a petition filed before National Green Tribunal by RL Sharma and others, the bench ruled in favor of the petitioners and ordered the removal of encroachment from designated green belt. The encroached are come under green belt as per NOIDA layout plan given in master plan 20121 as well as 20131.

The NGT bench has ordered removal of all encroachment in the area of green belt in sector 48 Noida. It has said that all the structure/ construction in the land in question shall be removed except those market in Master plan.

Tribunal has also order NOIDA to immediately restore green belt in the area that is cleared from encroachment.

Speaking about their fight against encroachment and consequent win, Pawan Goel from Sector 48 said, “It was much of a nuisance that area earmarked for green belt in sector was illegally encroached by different entities with varied vested interest. With the NGT order now in place we hope that a corrective action will be initiated soon”.

He however informed that order was given on August 14 but unfortunately as of August 23, no encroachment has been removed from the sector.
