Noida’s complete SWAT team disbanded after alleged bribery collection – distribution accounts go viral on social media

On Friday afternoon a viral screenshot started doing rounds on different whatsapp groups which shocked all the residents and raised staggering questions on a reputed team of Noida police. The screen shot was also accompanied by a message which claimed that these four screenshots were the collection and distribution list of Noida Crime Branch’s SOG. The list also has the details of expenditure, which varied from “Bhandara” to Air-tickets.
Sources claimed the list became viral after an internal fight between two groups of SOG and one disgruntled personnel also forwarded the said list of DGP with complaints of corruption.
Noida SSP Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma immediately ordered action as soon as the news of the viral whatsapp messages started doing the rounds. As per his orders the whole SWAT team has been disbanded and sent to police line. The team currently had 16 personnel and all have been relieved of any active role. He has also ordered an enquiry to be conducted by SP City Gautam Buddh Nagar.
In his statement Gautam Buddh Nagar police said, “Strictest action will be taken against errant sub-ordinates indulging in corrupt practices if found guilty. Veracity of messages is also being examined”.
The Details That Raise Questions:
From 1 Lakh expenditure on Air Tickets, 20 thousand on Bhandara or Community fest and 50,000 on Holi, the list has very detailed account analysis. There is also an expenditure of Fifty thousand noted with the caption “Jisne Shravan Ka Kaam karwaya, 50K aur dene” ( The person who got Sharvan case doen, 50 thousand more to be given). It is important to note that a criminal named Shravan was shot dead in an encounter on March 25 and he carried a bounty of 1 Lakh on his head.
The list also makes claim of distributing the money among an unnamed inspector and an IPS official. However the later expressed utmost shock on mention of her post in the list. It is also important to note that SOG team worked directly under SSP and SP (Crime) Noida.
