President Pranab Mukherjee Presents CII Woman Exemplars Award in Delhi today

Honorable President of India Pranab Mukherjee today presented 2017 edition of Woman Exemplars Award at an hotel in New Delhi.

                          The awards were given in three categories namely Education,  Health and Micro-enterprise.

This year CII Woman Exemplar Program had received 178 nominations from 25 States.

Three out of sixteen finalists were given award in three different categories.

The award reciepents and their contribution are as follows:

Ms Jayamma, founder of Chaithanya Mahila Mandali(CMM) received award for impacting 4428 women through there work. They have also saved 3500 children from harms way.

Ms. Manika, is West Bengal’s first trained barefoot community mental health counsellor. Her group has today helped 3000 people across 35 municipal wards.

                        Ms Kamal had set up Kamal Poultry and Ekta Sakhi Producer Company.  She has mentored more than 5000 women during drought.

                       Speaking at the occasion President of India said, “I am delighted that CII is venturing into different sectors to acknowledge and support grassroot warriors of this country”.

Speaking about the winners he said, “CII Woman Exemplar Awards represent true power of India. Having overcome extraordinary situations and being emerged as victorious leaders these woman inspire and motivate whole country”.
