Punjabi Promotion Council donates NCERT books for J&K students

New Delhi: Aimed to aid students and promote Punjabi language in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjabi Promotion Council has donated large number of NCERT books for standard 6 to 10 students.

Council made official announcement on Friday during a press briefing and claimed that the books will reach tomorrow and will be distributed to those students who want to study Punjabi language and are unable to purchase books.

“In such a prevailing situation, if students wanted to study and owing to the financial problems they are being forced to stop their education. To help those students, Punjabi Promotion Council (PPC) is providing NCERT books to the students of class 6th to 10th,” said president of the council, Jaswant Singh.

PPC is an NGO, who works for the promotion of Punjabi and Urdu language and provide free books and teachers to those who wanted to study. Council also educates Tihar Jail inmates by giving free education.

 “During our last visit to Srinagar, we found some schools where a sheer population wants to study but owing to the lack of books they are running from hard times. Later, we decided to donate books and we are sending NCERT books of Punjabi language to them.” Jaswant Singh added.
