This is how PWC won TEFR consultant bid for Jewar Airport after month long transparent process!

With completion of the process that lasted more than one and half month, on Friday after noon the consultant for conducting Techno Economic Feasibility report study of Greenfield Airport was finalized after opening of e-bids.

The process started on November 11 when EOI cum RFP was published by Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority for appointing consultant for preparing TEFR for development of a Greenfield Airport near Jewar.

Six bidders had applied for the same and application process was closed on 18 December 2017. All the bidders were shortlisted and a technical presentation took place at YEIDA office on 27 December 2017.

After the technical evaluation criteria defined in e-bid document, five companies had qualified for the financial bid.

Representatives from all five qualified firms were invited to be present for opening of the financial bid at Yamuna Expressway Industrial Authority office in Greater Noida. The process was completed in presence of senior officials of authority on Friday evening.

Detailing about the selection of techno-economic feasibility consultant selection through e-bid YEIDA OSD Shailendra Bhatia said, “Five companies were technically qualified for financial bid. PWC is selected on the basis of CQCCBS (Combined quality cum cost based selection method). LOA has been issued to PWC”.

The selected consultant will submit the techno economic feasibility report in April 2018. The development work for Jewar Airport is expected to start from December 2018.

In the last two years PwC has successfully closed several key Greenfield airports. PwC was responsible for offering transaction advisory for Greenfield Airport at Bhogapuram, Greenfield International Airport on DBFOT at Mopa, Goa and Navi Mumbai International Airport (Greenfield Airport).

As per PWC and Singapore based company Meinhardt will jointly conduct the Techno Economical Feasibility Study for international Greenfield airport at Jewar. While PriceWaterhouseCoopers has experience in commercial due diligence, financial analysis, environmental and social impact etc., Menhardt specializes in technical surveys, master planning, CAPEX and OPEX estimation.

Meinhardt has also worked on more than 100 aviation projects including 35 international airports.

The Jewar airport is proposed to become the biggest airport in India in terms of area occupied. The project however will be completed in different phases. The first phase of the project will involve construction of about 4,000 acres.
