New Delhi: In the alleged involvement in corruption case of Delhi CM Arvind Kerjiwal’s kin and his arrest by the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday said that whenever BJP has no agenda to corner the Delhi government they surface some old cases and showcase it as a bigger scam.
“It is an old issue. IIT Roorkee and later Sri Ram Lab have certified that the tender which had been awarded to the Delhi CM’s kin by the PWD has no corruption,” said AAP Chief Spokesperson, Saurabh Bhardwaj to media on Friday.

Yesterday, ACB arrested Vinay Bansal son of Kejriwal’s brother-in-law in connection with the PWD scam. Three FIRs, including one against a company run by the chief minister’s brother-in-law Surender Bansal, were registered by the ACB in this case on May 9 last year.
Three companies, including Renu Constructions (owned by Bansal, Kamal Singh and Pawan Kumar), were included in the FIRs.

Speaking over the issue Bharadwaj said that Kejriwal’s brother in law was a government registered contractor. On January 6, 2015, PWD awarded him tender of 2.64 crore to construct a drain and Delhi CM Kejriwal took throne on February 14, 2015. “Those who have been claiming due to Delhi CM’s kin they got the tender they should look into this. Media is showing it a corruption case of more than Rs 10 crore, however, the overall contract was 2.64 crore.”

“Besides, two agencies IIT Roorkee and Sri Ram Labs tested that the drain has constructed and quality is ok, then when is the corruption?” he asserted.
