Raahgiri Comes To Noida, Starts From 3rd February!

NOIDA, (31/1/2019): Noida Authority will be organizing Raahgiri Day on 3rd Feb 2019. It will be organised from DLF Mall Of India to Multi-Level Parking Sec-18, Noida (Every Sunday) 7:00 A.M To 10:00 A.M. and offer Free Parking at Multi-Level Parking.



Raahgiri Day is a street event which provides citizens with the opportunity to reclaim their streets, connect with their community, celebrate their city and therefore reclaim their lives. An idea which is modeled after an event named ‘Ciclovia’ in Bogota and was combined with a word ‘giri’ which promotes it as a movement for reclaiming ‘raah’, which means path by the pedestrians.

A day, every week is dedicated to inviting people on those streets which are overpowered by cars every day. To make them experience their streets with activities like cycling, walking and performing arts.

People from various strata and cultural backgrounds participate in the public arena. Innovative activities which build curiosity and interest in citizens are offered to engage them.

It is necessary to stimulate an idea which involves physical strength, team participation and involvement with the environment.

Various Activities like Zumba, Bhangara, Aerobic, Yoga, Meditation, Music Band, Street Art, Street Football, Street Cricket, Skating, Volleyball etc. will be the attractions that people can enjoy.

Raahgiri Day is India’s first sustained vehicle-free citizen initiative that began in Gurugram, and has been successfully running there since its inception in 2013. 18 states, and more than 70 cities, have conducted Raahgiri Days until now.

 

The Main Objective of Raahgiri Day is promoting sustainable transport, creating awarness about Road Safety, Citizen Health and inclusive city development.

Noida Authority invites all the citizens with full enthusiasm to take part in ‘Raahgiri’ every Sunday.
