New Delhi: Traders being tax collectors and tax payers of the Country are deeply worried over statement of Shri Rahul Gandhi for giving Rs. 72000 per year to BPL families which are about 5 crore in the Country. It means about 3.5 lakh crore is needed to meet this lofty political declaration of Rahul Gandhi.

It is deeply regretted that Rahul Gandhi forgot to announce the source of such a whopping fund and it makes us to believe that this burden will fall on tax payers, if his party comes to power. It is a declaration which has been without applying any mind just for greed of votes. It’s irony that loan waiver, other freebies burden always falls on the section which pays tax and gets nothing in return. It has become a fashion to impose all burden on tax payers for fulfilling unrealistic declarations. Mr Gandhi has become an expert in making high but lofty declarations.

The traders being tax payers feels that now it has become a sin in being tax payer in the Country. Go on paying taxes without hoping for any dignity, security or benefits and leaders like Mr Gandhi will handover tax payers money to under privileged class.

It is also regretted that Mr Gandhi while making declaration did not thought even for once about state of economy of the Country. God knows what more declarations will happen by Mr Gandhi when still two months to go for final phase of elections . Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary General, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT)
