Railways are dedicated for enhancing the passenger experience: Suresh Prabhu, Railways Minister

Minister for Railways, Suresh Prabhu launched a mission titled “Retro-Fitment” in New Delhi on Tuesday and stated that, railways are dedicated to enhance the passenger experience in the entire nation.

Talking about the refurbishing and upgradation of coaches, he said that, it has been planned to induct about 40,000 coaches with upgraded interiors by 2022-23. It would cost around RS. 30 Lacs per coach.

Railways have aimed to provide World class ambience, panels without visible screws, LED Lights, modular toilets with concealed plumbing, branded fittings and anti-graffiti coating.

Railway Board has also approved the retro fitment of about 32,000 ICF coaches (Having a minimum residual life of 10 years, with CBC and balanced draft gear.
