Rajasthan awarded for outstanding performance in promotion of Renewable Energy

Rajasthan was today awarded for outstanding performance in promotion of Renewable Energy.  Shri Pushpendra Singh State Minister for Energy received the award from Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at the RE-INVEST- 1st Renewable Energy Global Investors Meet & Expo which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister today.

After receiving the award Shri Pushpendra Singh said that Rajasthan has been taking great efforts to promote energy security, energy equity, energy accessibility & sustainability in the country. Under the leadership of Smt. Vasundhara Raje, Government has been taking proactive steps to increasing renewable energy generation and till next march we will be able to generate 1200 MW Solar Energy than Rajasthan will reach first place in the country. The total Renewable Power capacity has been increased to 4000 MW by 2014 end, which contains 865 MW Solar Energy, 3100 MW Wind Energy and 114 MW Bio Energy, shri singh added.

Shri Pushpendra Singh stated that promotion of renewable energy and increasing its share in the total energy basket of the country is necessary for the long term sustainability of the energy sector. Therefore, the target of Government of India for adding 100000 MW of solar and 60000 MW of wind generation capacity by the year 2022 is in the right direction.

Shri Singh Said , Rajasthan has Released  “New Solar Energy Policy” and taking steps to establish Solar Parks, we have been signed several MoUs for development of 26 thousand MW’s solar Park and  other solar projects of 14 thousand MW in the Rajasthan. He added that various companies like Reliance Energy, Sun Adition, I.E.F.S.,and Adani coming forward to invest in this area at Rajasthan. Rajasthan will be the biggest solar hub of the country in the coming years, He said.
