Regal opened in 1932, will showcase final film tomorrow.

Regal cinema opened in 1932, and 85 years later, it is going to shutdown on March 30,2017. The final two shows on Thursday, however, will screen Raj Kapoor classics Mera Naam Joker (evening show) and Sangam (night show).

One of the oldest structures in New Delhi, the building is all set to undergo a renovation and will be transformed into a multiplex, timeline of reopening is not fixed till now, Manager of Regal cinema Roop Ghai said.

Apart from Mera Naam Joker, another Raj Kapoor’s classic,”Sangam” will be screened on Thursday at 10 pm.

During its early days, Regal cinema was called New Delhi Premier Theater and also considered as Legacy of Delhi.
