SBI Foundation and GCNI organises ‘Youth Conclave 2019’, Felicitates Alumni of the program

Noida, (16/3/2019): SBI Youth for India Fellowship recognized as the flagship program of SBI Foundation, it is a 13-month long fellowship that enables nation’s youth to work on rural development projects in partnership with experienced NGOs.

The fellowship provides a framework for India’s best minds to join hands with rural communities, emphathise with their struggles and connect with their aspirations.



Today in Noida SBI along with GCNI and many more social enterprises organized ‘The Youth Conclave 2019. This conclave mainly focuses on the achievements of the beneficiaries of the program and to felicitate them to do more in their respective fields.

The conclave started traditionally by lighting the lamp by Chief Guest, Kamal Singh, Executive Director, GCNI and Nixon Joseph, President and COO of the SBI foundation. Many eminent personalities from different NGO’s were also present there to grace the event.

Following this a panel discussion was also organized between Nidhi Pundhir, Director HCL foundation, Anshu Gupta, Founder Goonj and Shalabh Mittal, CEO of School of Social Entrepreneurs. They discussed about the achievements of the fellows that they have achieved by enrolling in Youth for India initiative. And also the problems and changes that can be seen in the work of social enterprises.

While talking to Ten News, Nixon Joseph, President and COO of SBI foundation said, “That the Youth for India is an initiative which provides basic requirements for the aspirants and provide them financial as well as moral support to do better in their life. In rural areas, migration is at an all-time high due to fewer employment opportunities. SBI Youth for India understands the importance of creating sustainable employment opportunities in rural areas. SBI YFI fellows along with the partner NGOs work with local youth, farming communities and women to encourage and foster entrepreneurs”.

Kamal Singh, Executive Director of Global Compact Network India (GCNI) while interacting with Ten News said, “that the Youth for India initiative is helping the entrepreneurs from all across the country in giving them employment and to provide them basic requirements for their business and ideas. It is also helping in achieving Sustainable Development Goals through various platforms”.
