New Delhi, March 31: It has been over 16 days that farmers have been protesting at Jantar Mantar with skulls that are being said to be of farmers who died in the state last year. On Friday, DMK MP Kanimozhi met the protesting farmers at Jantar Mantar and heard their demands. The farmers have been protesting for over two weeks and have tried many strange ways to get their protest noticed.

On Tuesday, the farmers put dead snakes into their mouths as a mark of protest to be noticed by the Centre. They also put live mice in their mouths as a mark of protest last week. They also staged protests demonstrating as corpse demanding drought relief and loan waive-off from Centre. Last week, two young farmers also climbed a tree at Jantar Mantar shouting out their demands. Besides loan waiver, the agitating farmers are also demanding the formation of a Cauvery Management Committee, linking of all rivers by Smart Waterways Project and profitable prices for agricultural produce.
