I.T.S Dental College, Hospital & Research Centre, Greater Noida celebrated Doctor’s Day

I.T.S Dental College, Hospital & Research Centre, Greater Noida celebrated Doctor’s Day on 8 th July 2016 in honor of all the doctors who are involved in diagnosis, treatment and care of the patients.The function was inaugurated by Dr. Puneet Ahuja, Principal, I.T.S Dental College, Hospital & Research Centre, Greater Noida. Speaking on the occasion, he told the gathering that the patient who comes for the treatment is more concerned about the fees being charged rather than the treatment itself. He urged the undergraduate students to treat this profession humanely and not as an office of profit. He was also of the view that in India, people treat doctors as Gods and therefore the chances of making error should be minimal as we deal with the life of a patient. Therefore to reach that level of competency everyone should work hard so that the patient is benefitted. Also present in the program was Dr. Kalha, Director PG Studies who addressed the gathering regarding the importance of a clinician in the current scenario. He was of the opinion that winning the trust of the patient was a challenge for everyone any day. He also stressed upon the ill-treatment of doctors whenever something went wrong. Therefore, a doctor should be attentive 24×7 while treating patient, keeping all the ethical considerations in mind.This function was attended by all the undergraduate, post graduate students, Interns, HODs and senior faculty members of the institute. This was followed by a soulful band performance by Souradeep & group which set the mood of the event from the beginning only. Deepak & Aastha performed an amazing dance performance to keep up the mood A beautiful skit depicting the dreams of the students the footsteps of their HODs and teachers by Dr. Ishan & group was hilarious and depicted the life of a Head of the department is not easy and is like a crown of thorns. Arundhati Varma & group performed a group dance which again set the mood with their grooving performance. Preeti & Piyali performed a duet dance performance with peppy dance numbers and harmonizing dance. Finally the last performance was by Sandeep and Group with their self composed song on the sensitive Doctor-patient relationship. Department of Microbiology, I.T.S Dental College had organized a quiz competition on 4 th July 2016 and the Department of Pharmacology organized a model & poster competition 30 th June 2016. The respective prize winning students were also felicitated on this occasion by awarding them merit  certificates. Complete program was hosted and organized by the Department of Public Health Dentistry and Dr. Shivlingesh befittingly gave vote of thanks followed by National Anthem.
