I.T.S Engineering College, Greater Noida celebrated the International Pi Day on March 14th (3/14). Pi (Greek letter “”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14.

This never ending number (3.14159 ) and Einstein’s birthday coincided on the same day. Albert Einstein was a German born theoretical physicist who developed the theory of relativity. This day is celebrated to pay respect to all physicists and mathematicians.

The event was graced by the honourable dignitaries- Vice Chairman I.T.S Education Group, Sh. Sohil Chadha, Dr. Vikas Singh- Executive Director, Dr. Gagan Deep Arora- Dean Academics & Administration; Dr. Sanjay Yadav – Dean Student’s Welfare.

Prof. O. P. Chaudhary, Head of the organizing department (Applied Science and Humanities) highlighted the significance and relevance of Pi. The Executive Director, Prof. Vikas Singh also shared his views on the momentous occasion. He too enlightened the audience with his sound experience and knowledge on the topic.

Seeing the success of the event, it was decided to celebrate it with more activities and, may be for a longer duration from the next time.

Just as a Pi continues infinitely without repetition or pattern; the life should also go on without being repetitive about mistakes and monotony.

The celebration concluded with cake cutting ceremony and distribution of pies to all the faculty and students.
