I.T.S. Engineering College, one of the premier Institutions in the field of Engineering and Management Education organized an Inauguration of IEEE ( Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Student Branch Chapter. This will facilitate students a platform for technological development and an exposure to it by organizing various activities viz. technical competitions , paper presentations , workshops on various emerging trends , project competition and many more activities under the banner.

 

Under this IEEE Branch Chapter , the students are privileged to be the member of “Power and Energy Society Branch Chapter” and “Women in Engineering Branch Chapter.”

 

The Inauguration of IEEE Branch Chapter was initiated and welcomed the  Chief Guests – Prof. K Subramanian and  Prof S.N. Singh. It was followed by Lamp lighting and Maa Saraswati Vandana.

  1. Prof. K Subramanian, (Vice Chair- IEEE Delhi Section) who was the first Director and Professor at Advanced center for Informatics and Innovative Learning(ACIIL), and introduced Advanced Technology, Engineering and Management Courses at Masters Level and started Research Programs in the Interdisciplinary areas of Knowledge Management, Informatics and Information and Communications Technologies and Management through Partnership Institutions @ IGNOU.

He has more than three and half decades of experience in Architecture, design, development, Implementation & Audit of Technology & Systems of the Federal/State/Districts in the Union of India. He is also currently serving as a technical MEMBER IN THE Quality Council of India for accreditation of the technical skills required by IT/ITeS industry on behalf of NASSCOM.

He has many Professional Body Affiliations, such as Fellow of IETE, National Telemetics Forum, Indian Science Association, Indian Institute of Standards Engineers , Senior Member of IEEE (USA)(IEEE computer, IEEE communications, IEEE Systems, Man & Cybernetics, IEEE Engineering Management, IEEE Education, etc.,).

He has contributed to many International/National Bodies:, as a Panel Member in some of UN Technological Committees including ICAO.

He was a Visiting Professor at National Institute for Multimedia Education, Japan,, and adjunct professor at IIM Lucknow., IIT Delhi, Fore School of Management , IIM Bangalore, IMT Ghaziabad, MDI and NILLM, IIITM, Kerala., IIIT, Bangalore.

His spoke on topic “Innovation , Emerging technologies and an Ideal Professional Engineer. Establish Build India Campaign on enhancing qualities like Creativity, Effective communication, Leadership, develop Interpersonal skills, acquire physical fitness.

 

  1. Prof S. N. Singh , Presently, he is Chairman, IEEE UP Section. also a Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India.

 

Dr Singh received several awards including Young Engineer Award 2000 from Indian National Academy of Engineering, Khosla Research Award of IIT Roorkee, and Award of CBIP New Delhi (India).

His research interests include power system restructuring, FACTS, power system optimization & control, security analysis, wind power, etc. Prof Singh has published more than 370 papers in International/national journals/conferences. He has also written two books one on Electric Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution and second is Basic Electrical Engineering, published by PHI, India.

 

He motivated the students by emphasizing that they have to enhance their knowledge and presentation skills. One has to be ready to face the challenges and self explore on the queries so as to learn and sustain for a longer period. He also deliberated on the subject IEEE Branch Chapter, the importance and its benefits. It shall provide a platform for technological development and an exposure to it by organizing various activities viz. technical competitions , paper presentations , workshops on various emerging trends , project competition and many more activities under the banner.
