Music without Boundaries

The Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre is pleased to present a concert “Music Without Boundaries” by Delhi’s biggest and one of the most well-known choirs, the Capital City Minstrels on May 6, 2015 Wednesday at 7 pm at the Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre, Delhi. The choir will be conducted by Carolin Remy. The concert celebrates This time around, the audience will get to enjoy arrangements. As the title of the concert suggests, the repertoire will include a diverse range of music, keeping true to CCM’s dedication to music which has traces of Carnatic music.

The singers will be supported by the well known Nise Meruno on Piano and Suchet Malhotra, with an array of The Capital City Minstrels (CCM) is comprised of people from all walks of life. Different languages are spoken by various choir members. But the language that unites us all is music. A long-time member of ours, Tapas Bhardwaj is a visually challenged student from Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram, Delhi and one of the reasons he attributes his success as “Head Boy” of his school, as he has earned the confidence and stage presence with his many performances on stage with CCM. Originating in 1994, the choir recently had celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2014. Over these two decades CCM has performed in more than 200 concerts at prestigious venues around the capital. The choir has also established strong cultural links with the Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre, Alliance Francaise, the Austrian, Italian and Vatican Embassies and regularly performs for important events at these places.

CCM’s repertoire spans a wide range; from the earliest choral music to the entire spectrum of western classical music, and opera to ballads, folk songs, Broadway musicals, rock, pop, jazz as well as Indian music arranged for choir Touring in India and abroad to share their love for music, CCM has over the years performed in Goa, Kashmir, Budapest, Remscheider (Germany) and Paris and the choir will be touring Europe in June 2015, performing in Hungary, Germany Prayer for Peace Paul Fetler Dravidian Dithyramb Victor Paranjoti Tarana A form of Hindustani classical music using Persian and Arabic
