Three Day long Odissi dance festival kicks off in Delhi, international dancers to participate

New Delhi: In a bid to promote Odissi dance / vocal music one of most acclaimed Odissi dance academy, Vaishali Kala Kendra is organising 3-day long ‘Guru Pranam Utsav’ in New Delhi at Azad Bhawan.


Internationally acclaimed Odissi dancer, Padma Shri awardee Datuk Guru Ramli Ibrahim and Odissi dance expert Jyoti Shrivastava enthralled the audience with their performances.

Vaishali Kala Kendra is one of the leading dance institutes located at Noida. The Institute is dedicated to propagate Odissi dance in the City where the awareness and popularity of this dance is now quite noticeable. The Kendra is focused towards its misson to see Odissi at the crescent of international fame and glory.

Carrying forward the teachings of great Guru Shrinath Raut ji, Vaishali Kala Kendra, for more than Two decade now organises “Guru Pranam Utsav” in the memory and honour of late Guru Shnnath Raut who dedicated his life proliferating the importance of Odissi as a cultural dance form, This Year Vaishali Celebrates 30th Year Of grand celebrations of Gum Pranam Utsav.

On this occasion Jyoti Shrivastava said, “To reach out to the maximum to preserve and foster the growth of Odissi, This year we are collaborating with Odissi lntemational festival which is being organised from the last 10 years not only in Odisha but also has reached to different States of India. We will be conducting 3 day Mega Festival and expecting more than 100 dancers from around the globe to be part of this festival. It is being organised on the 6th, 7th & 8th of April 2018 at ICCR, Azad Bhawan”.

On this ocassion, High Commissioner of Malaysia to India, H.E. Dato Hidayat Abdul Hamid and former Indian Diplomat Lalit Mansingh participated in the event.
