Two arrested for robbing, molesting woman in Greater Noida

Greater Noida: Yesterday Dankaur police had nabbed a man allegedly for robbing valuables and molesting one of the Victim’s.

According to police, the arrested man was identified as Praveen. He and his accomplice had entered the victims’ house on the pretext of buying a plot in the neighbourhood.

“The victims live in an isolated part of the same village. They are originally from eastern UP. According to the victims, the accused came to their house on April 4 saying that they were looking at plots nearby. There were only two people in the house at that time, a 60-year-old woman and her daughter-in-law,” said Farmood Ali Pundir, station house officer, Dankaur police station.

He added, that after a while, the two men snatched a chain and earrings from the younger woman. when the elderly woman tried to stop them, they allegedly attempted to rape her. Thereafter, a case was registered at Dankaur police station.

The police arrested Praveen on Saturday acting on a tip-off from an informant. “We arrested him from near the Atta Gujran crossing in the morning. We have also recovered the earrings and a bike from his possession,” the SHO said.
