With the ongoing heat between India and China, recently Congress and his Vice President Rahul Gandhi, taunted Union Minister Dr. Mahesh Sharma and said that, what was Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma was doing in Beijing on July 6 & 7??

Rahul Gandhi said that, if govt is so concerned about me meeting an Ambassador, they should explain why three Ministers including Dr. Mahesh Sharma are availing Chinese hospitality while the border issue is on.

Clarifaying all the questions, Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Dr. Mahesh Sharma said that, I was there for BRICS meeting.

It was not a bilateral meeting, it was a pre-planned visit, he added.
