Union Minister Mahesh Sharma Inaugurates 38th Edition of India International Trade Fair

New Delhi :– The 38th edition of India International Trade Fair 2018 kicked off today in National Capital. The Fair is commencing at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from November 14 to November 27.

The Grand event of India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) assumes a special significance for the country as the year marks the start of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of the Father of Nation.

This Year, Theme of the fair is ‘Rural Enterprises in India’ where all States, Government organisations will come under one roof and other stake holders will put their best foot forward.The ‘Partner Country’ is the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’ and the ‘Focus Country’, Nepal. The ‘Focus State’ is Jharkhand.

Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State for Culture and Tourism and Civil Aviation and C.R. Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry Inaugurated the India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan Today.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mahesh Sharma said,

“The trade fair will provide a platform for all kind of businesses to showcase their excellence & wide spectrum of services to trade, industry & common men. Our PM has a vision to create something exclusive and wants India to be a visionary country. Ease of doing business is constantly improving in India and We are the 6th largest economy in the world.”

C.R. Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry said,

“MSME sector is very important for this nation. We have to encourage our rural enterprises and we want them to showcase their products at platforms like
International India Trade Fair 2018. 60 billion dollar funds were poured in India in the last 4 years and the main attraction was the Make In India idea which drove this funds in the country.”

LC Goyal, Chairman and MD of India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), said, “This year the theme of the fair is Rural Enterprises in India.In this year’s fair Afghanistan is the Partner Country, while Nepal is the Focus Country. Jharkhand is participating as a Partner State in the event. Around 800 participants from different States, government departments and domestic and international companies are taking part in the fair  to showcase their product.The 14-day annual event will continue till 27th of this month.”

He further said, “We are coming up with a world class state-of-the-art infrastructure which will be at par with rest of the world and will be delivered by September next year.”

ITPO Executive Director Deepak Kumar said, “This year, the available exhibition space is almost one fourth of the previous IITF editions due to implementation of the IECC project at Pragati Maidan. Around 800 participants from States Government Departments, domestic and International companies are taking part with considerable participation of rural artisans, craftsmen and SME entrepreneurs.”

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Seth, chairman of Jharkhand State Khadi Gramodyog Board said,

“The Theme ‘Rural Enterprises in India’, which is selected this year I must say it’s wonderful. Jharkhand I must tell you have done lot of developments in past some years. The roads conditions in Jharkhand are one of the best in the country. The IITF will be providing a platform for all kind of businesses which is indeed very good. The Focus State is Jharkhand this year for which i’m really thankful.”
