UP government finalises price for land acquisition of Jewar Airport, cabinet approves proposal

Greater Noida (4/12/2018) : The state government will compensate the farmers of Noida International Greenfield Airport with the rate of Rs 2300 per square meter as state cabinet has now approved this proposal on Monday.

State government spokesman Shrikant Sharma said “Airport will be developed on public-private partnership (PPP) model and acquired land will be leased for 90 years.For this Noida International Airport Limited has been authorized . 1239.1416 hectares of land will be acquired with the rate of Rs 2300 per sq meter for the airport and total of 2852 crores will be spent on this. While the total cost of land acquisition will be around 4500 crores out of this, the state government has approved administrative and financial sanction of Rs 1500 crore of its share. Significantly, the farmers were demanding Rs 3,000 per square meter compensation for the land but after CM Yogi Adityanath intervention middle path was drawn.”

The amount of 2.50% of the expenditure on land acquisition has been given to the Department of Revenue by the Civil Aviation Department. All the land and assets of government departments falling under this airport are being evaluated by DM and the decision to give such land and assets to the respective Civil Aviation Department by respective departments has also been stamped by cabinet.

Apart from this Chief Minister has been authorized as administer to approve all the administrative and financial sanction required for the rehabilitation of the farmers, Which is now being estimated by DM Gautam Buddha Nagar.
