JHARKHAND CM RAGHUBAR FOR MAKING JHARKHAND HUB OF HIGHER EDUCATION WOOS INVESTMENTS

MEDICAL CITY TO COME UP NEAR RANCHI SOON

New Delhi/ Ranchi August 5, 2016 Raghubar Das , Chief Minister ,Jharkhand state on Friday welcomed private higher educational institutes in the country to partner with the state government and open private universities and technical institutes in the state . A single window felicitation service has been set up for the purpose.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das while inaugurating a Two day World Education Summit organised jointly by the Department of Information Technology ,Jharkhand and Elets, a Non Government organisation said “the Jharkhand government is totally committed to protecting and securing the well being of investments, public life and property. “

“We whole heartedly welcome the higher educational institutes and investors from India and abroad to come to Jharkhand and invest in the state which has huge scope and potential. Through various responsive governance initiatives, we have ensured perfect industrial harmony in the state. As our commitment for qualitative reforms in the field of higher education for human resource development, the Government was toiling hard to promote institutions for making knowledge-based society and establish Jharkhand as hub of higher education.” Said Chief Minister Das.

“The Government wants to make Jharkhand a hub of higher education and for that besides academic efforts institutional strengthening is also required. Universities and colleges have to build better environment for research facilities and acquiring knowledge. For that, the universities should not be made political arena,” said the CM.

He went on further saying that purpose of the varsities should be enrichment of educational reforms and institutional level competition for expansion. The CM also stressed on gross enrolment ratio in higher education and infusion of technology.

Chief Secretary of State Ms Raj Bala Verma speaking on the occasion said “steps are being taken for improvement in basic facilities such as Wi-Fi, Internet connectivity, online admission in Government colleges. State is also working in the areas such as e-learning, smart classes, biometric attendance system and other modern techniques for improving quality of higher education”

“with over 40 percent under the age of 14 years, and over 70 percent under 35 years. With promising demographic potential and a network of highly reputed education and research institutions, the industrial and socio-economic future of Jharkhand is bright. We intend to strengthen our reputation through investments in institutional development and capacity building, for which there is great demand.” She added.

“About 300 Delegates are taking part in the Two day World Education Summit with focus on higher and school education and closing gap in the growing digital divide .An exhibition with latest display of technologies for e learning are major highlight of the conference “said MR Ravi Gupta, Managing Director, Elets, the main organiser of the summit
