WORLD ROAD MEETING (WRM 2017 ) will be hosted by Greater Noida for the first time.
The International Road Federation (IRF) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation with the mission to promote the development and maintenance of better, safer and more sustainable roads and road networks. About 2500 global Road safety experts, professionals, companies and Government organisations, active in road transport and mobility sectors from various parts of the world will be present in the Four day 18th World Road Meeting (WRM) titled CROSSROADS-WRM 2017 being held in New Delhi-Greater Noida (Expo Mart) , India for the first time from November 14 to 17, 2017. The conference will cover areas like delivering safe, sustainable, and smart road transport and mobility at an affordable price, the legal, policy, and regulatory issues, the instruments that are available to policy and decision-makers, new concepts and technologies for delivering transport and mobility, and the possibilities offered by big data and technology to reshape the road transport and mobility system to face future challenges.
Union Minister for Road Transport Highways Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the four day global road meet.
The other guests who will be taking part in the WRM 2017 will include Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) Mansukh L Mandaviya, Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, Anne Berer, Minister of Transport, Finland, Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, Canada, Mr. Maxim Sokolov – Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, , Jean Todt , President, FIA (Federation International Automobile) , Geneva, Switzerland.
Mr. Kapila said "The major highlight of WRM 2017 will be an exhibition showcasing state-of-the-art technologies on road safety and traffic regulations including control systems, communication and navigation devices, driver training systems, Intelligent Transport System (ITS) Access Control, Barriers, Vehicle Detection, Speed Cameras, License Plate Recognition, Vehicle Classification, Fibre Optics, Road Signs, Highway Infrastructure, latest parking technologies."
