Yogi Adityanath Government’s First Budget: UP Government Aims 10 Per Cent Growth; Key Highlights

Lucknow, July 11: The BJP government in Uttar Pradesh presented its first budget in the state Vidhan Sabha in Lucknow. The session began with a 2-minute silence for martyrs. State Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal presented the budget in which he said that the government would aim a 10 per cent growth. He said that the state government was working for development for all and to end poverty in the state were there priority.

He said that the government was focussing on making the Lucknow Metro operational. The government was also working to bring Purvanchal Express. The government is working to generate more employment. The government will bring new textile policy. Here are the salient points of UP budget.

  • A Rs 3.84 lakh crore budget is being tabled. Rs 55,781 crore worth new schemes are being introduced.
  • Skill development to be promoted.
  • 24 January will be UP Divas.
  • New investment policy will be brought.
  • Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Kisan Samriddhi scheme launched, Rs 10 crore earmarked for it.
  • Rs 19 crore 56 lakh for compost, Rs 10 crore 41 lakh for sprinklers.
  • Rs 125 crore for Solar Pump scheme. Government to take sugar cane crops to market.
  • Rs 200 crore for link roads. Rs 250 crore for maintenance of link roads.
  • Rs 10 crore for the centre for excellence for research on crops in UP cities.
  • Rs 273 crore for promotion of sugar industry.
  • Rs 288 crore for metro rail projects.
  • Rs 598 crore for broadening of roads.
  • Rs 491 crore for connecting villages with roads, small bridges.
  • Rs 3,972 crore for pot-hole free roads, UP state road authority to be commissioned.
  • Rs 3 thousand crore for urban development schemes. Rs 385 crore for slums.
  • Rs 40 crore for shelter for stray animals.
  • Rs 100 crore for free school bags to children.
  • Rs 300 crore for sweaters, socks, and shoes for school going kids, Rs 124 crore earmarked for school uniform.
  • The government will provide free education to girls up to graduation. Rs 21 crore allotted.
  • Rs 942 crore for scholarships of students from minority communities.
  • Rs 50 crore in colleges and universities.
  • 1000 doctors to be admitted in government institutions, schools and hospitals to be named after martyrs.
