#YogiAdityanath’s homecoming in #Gorakhpur: Farmer tries self immolation demanding loan waiver
Gorakhpur, March 26: A farmer in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh tried to immolate himself outside the Gorakhnath Temple demanding loan waiver on Sunday. Reportedly, the farmer had taken the loan for his treatment and wanted to meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is on a 2-day visit to his parliamentary constituency Gorakhpur, to seek loan waiver but, was he unable to meet him.
As per a report in News18 Hindi, the farmer has been identified as Raj Kumar Bharti and he is a resident of Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. Distressed over not being able to meet the CM, the farmer sprayed petrol on his body and attempted self immolation however, he was prevented from taking such a step by the people present there. Noteworthy, he has now been detained by the police and has been taken to nearby police station.
