3 new oxygen plants to be established every week in different areas of UP, announces CM Yogi

Lucknow, April 19: Amid the surge in Covid cases in UP and shortage of oxygen, CM Yogi Adityanath today announced that three new oxygen plants will be established every week in different areas of the state. “Oxygen supply will improve as soon as the new plants become functional,” said the CM.

“One oxygen plant, which is being built with the help of DRDO, will be functional within two days,” he added.

He also ordered that all the oxygen produced by the industrial units in the state must be used only for the medical services, except under special circumstances.

On alleged shortage of Covid drug Remdesivir, he said that there is no dearth of any kind of life-saving drugs, including Remdesivir. “20,000 to 30,000 boyle of Remdesivir will be received by the state today. A new consignment of Remdesivir is also being received within the next three days. They have been distributed in a transparent manner.”

To tackle the shortage of Covid beds in hospitals, CM Yogi ordered to double the Covid beds in most-affected cities of UP including Lucknow, Varanasi and Prayagraj.

He further ordered the administration to ensure 24×7 electricity in all the hospitals and oxygen plants.
