54th IHGF draws cross-section of trade visitors from several countries, new collections lure buyers

Greater Noida – 15th October 2022 – The aisles at the IHGF Delhi Fair-Autumn, being held at the plush India expo Centre & Mart till 18th October 2022, are busy with visitor traffic as the show continues to see energy filled field days with the first two days registering a cross-section of trade visitors from several countries as well as volume buyers from the Indian retail sector. Bringing together an increasing number of exhibitors and buyers with each successive edition, this show has become an essential part of sourcing itineraries.

Prolific line extensions and new collections are on display as manufacturers focus on interplay and blends of raw materials, sustainable crafts and embellished lifestyle products to cater to various themes. Regional crafts have brought to the fair, unique local cultures and native uses with modern techniques.

Buyers are enjoying being part of the show and are keen on sourcing from their regular as well new suppliers they met this time. Micheal Kramer and Ute Naumann from Germany found lamp shades very attractive. They are regular visitors and are here for furniture and home decor. “This year, we are also looking for sustainably produced items. We hope to find more of them across the fair,” they shared. Another regular buyer, Philippe Morvan from Spain said, “I am enjoying how my favourite fair is back to its earlier splendour.” He is here to buy home products made from solid wood for stocking his six shops across Spain. Younpyo Hong and Yori Kim from South Korea shared, “It’s a big fair and we are here for the first time so we have a lot of ground to cover. The main focus is home furniture of all sorts. Given the wide variety of exhibition themes, we are inspired and have to short list about what to buy this year. The fair provides great opportunity for Indian products, which work well in the Korean markets.”

Among special guests, IHGF Delhi Fair was visited today by Robert Maxian, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic and his spouse Jana Maxianova; Hon’ble Justice Shri. M. N. Bhandari, Chairman under SAFEMA & PM; Shantmanu, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India; Smt. Shubhra, Trade Advisor, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India; and Anil Agrawal, Addl. DGFT, Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

As part of the supportive events during the fair, two seminars were conducted by international consultants and well attended. ‘2023 Lifestyles and Trends’ focused on Latest trends & forecast, importance of visual merchandizing, new colour trends in international markets and important materials, finishes and textures. ‘Branding-conveying your message to the end-user’ guided the audience on how to differentiate from the masses and carry one’s brand voice through product, merchandising, and marketing. Ramp Presentations offered live visuals of various merchandise by exhibitors at the show and gathered a good number of audience from among visitors.
