5th Annual Sports and Cultural Fest organised at ITS College of Pharmacy

Greater Noida (30/11/2025): The 5th Annual Sports & Cultural Fest was held at I.T.S College of Pharmacy in Ghaziabad on November 27-28, 2025, with the kind support and active participation of Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S-The Education Group. His unwavering support and encouragement have been instrumental in motivating students to strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives. He reiterated that participation in extracurricular activities plays a crucial role in building confidence, teamwork, resilience, and a strong spirit of sportsmanship among youth.

The first day of the Annual Fest commenced on 27th November 2025 with an energetic Sports Extravaganza that witnessed active participation from students. The event reflected their enthusiasm, competitive spirit, and athletic excellence. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. S. Sadish Kumar, Director, I.T.S. College of Pharmacy, who formally declared the annual sports meet open at 10:00 a.m. In his address, he urged participants to engage in all activities with perseverance and positive energy. A diverse range of sports was organized based on student preferences, including cricket, volleyball, chess, badminton, table tennis, tug of war, shot put, carom, and track & field events.

The second day of the Annual Fest, held on 28th November 2025, was devoted to cultural programmes. Students participated enthusiastically in various competitions, including solo singing, solo dancing, tattoo art and mehendi. The programme commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony after lunch. Dr. S. Sadish Kumar, Director, I.T.S. College of Pharmacy, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, faculty members, and students to the grand celebration. He commended the event coordinators for their sincere efforts and seamless execution of the fest. He also mentioned that earlier sports and cultural activities are not just fun but they meaningfully support mental well-being by reducing stress, improving mood, and enhancing cognitive function. He formally welcomed the Chief Guest, Dr. Mahendra Singh Tyagi, Director Technical, International Kho-Kho Federation of India (KFI), and the Guest of Honour, Nirmala Bhati, Gold Medalist, 1st Kho-Kho World Cup 2025 and Dr. Arun Tyagi, Advisor, KFI, by presenting them with a good luck plant as a symbol of respect and appreciation. He also welcomed Dr. Praveen Kumar, Technical officer, KFI, Bhupendra Kumar, International Referee, KFI and Kapil Sharma, Karate Champion.

Surinder Sood, Director PR – I.T.S The Education Group honored the guests with a memento. In his speech, he appreciated Nirmala Bhati, the young sports icon, who has shown the world the strength and confidence of Indian talent. Her achievements motivated youth to believe, “If she can do it, why can’t we?”He acknowledged Dr. Mahendra Singh Tyagi’s leadership and dedication that have strengthened opportunities for athletes across the nation to dream big and pursue excellence with confidence and determination.

Dr. Mahendra Singh Tyagi felt honoured and privileged to be at I.T.S College of Pharmacy. He said that teachers, professors, staff, and sports professionals all share the responsibility of building a healthy and progressive society with strong collaboration. Sports should be encouraged alongside academics, as it plays a key role in development. He emphasized on open to working together that can help create a stronger, healthier, and more empowered generation.

Nirmala Bhati underlined that a player should always carry the passion to keep going and never give up, as no one can defeat you until you accept defeat. She emphasised to dream boldly and work hard, because when your goal becomes reality, it becomes one of the greatest moments of your life. So, keep your dreams alive, believe in yourself, and stay determined.

Towards the end all the athletic and cultural champions received 312 medals and 9 trophies for 13 Sport & 7 Cultural events from Dr. Mahendra Singh Tyagi, Nirmala Bhati, Dr. Arun Tyagi, and Dr. S. Sadish Kumar, as well as other faculty members. The overall winner and runner up trophies were lifted by the IV B.Pharm and II B.Pharm respectively.

Key contributors to the successful organization of the event included, Gaurav Chaudhary (Assistant Professor), Shubhdeep Yadav (Assistant Professor), Prashant Sharma (Assistant Professor), Manvi (Assistant Professor), Gaurav Veerbhan (Sports Officer), and  Himanshu (Lab Technician), along with Dr. Raj Kumari (Dean & Professor) and Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma (Professor) whose dedicated efforts played a vital role in making the Annual Fest a grand success. The programme was seamlessly anchored by Manish Kumar (PDP Trainer), Sakshi Chauhan (Assistant Professor), and Nidhi Sharma (Assistant Professor), whose engaging coordination ensured smooth execution throughout.
