BJP workers gathered at large number to pay their last respects to Sushma Swaraj at BJP HQ!
New Delhi: Leaders from across the political spectrum and Indians from around the world pay tribute to Sushma Swaraj. BJP workers and mourners on Wednesday gathered in large numbers at the party headquarters to pay their last respects to Sushma Swaraj, veteran leader, former external affairs minister.
The body of the late leader, who died on Tuesday night at the age of 67, was brought from her residence to the party’s headquarters.
Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP Working President J P Nadda and other leaders reviewed preparations at the BJP headquaters before the mortal remains of former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj were brought there. BJP president Amit Shah and working president J P Nadda, covered Swaraj’s body with the national flag and paid their tributes.
Emotional Crowd Paying Last Respect to Former Foreign Minister, chanted "Jab tak suraj chand rahega didi tera naam rahega" (Her name will endure till as long as the Sun and the Moon), bidding her goodbye after the hearse carrying her left her home.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also paid last tributes to former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj at BJP headquarters, while interacting with media,
"Sushma Swaraj Ji will always be remembered. She had set unforgettable and exemplary standards by working as a politician for over four decades. She was a diligent public servant. I did get an opportunity to learn many things from her while she was working as the External Affairs Minister from 2014 to 2019.".
He further said, "She had set exemplary examples in her political profession. The entire nation is in deep shock. She used to do all her work with great allegiance and honesty. She was known for tackling her entire team and work with them. I have come here to pay my last respects to her."
