Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vinod Dasari, Vice President of SIAM and Managing Director, Ashok Leyland Limited said “As a result of growing GDP, India’s primary energy consumption is expected to increase by 70% in the next ten years. The gap between domestic crude oil production and consumption is widening, leading to increase in imports and consequent impact on the trade deficit. Thus, Electric Mobility Pavilion will set a milestone to create awareness amongst consumers. This has come as a part of the composite communication strategy espoused under the National Mission on Electric Mobility.
“Test drive of these electric vehicles will allow consumers to have a real life feel of these technology vehicles. This initiative shows commitment from both industry and Government of India towards sustainable mobility” He added.
This pavilion will be positioned to showcase hybrid/ electric technology and vehicles from various vehicle and component manufacturers with the objective to demonstrate the level of industry’s readiness as a prelude to the roll out of NEMMP schemes.
