Greater Noida (30/05/2019) : The gruesome Delhi gangrape of 2012 had jolted the collective conscience of the entire nation. After fierce protests and agitations, the then UPA government had announced a slew of measures that included setting up a corous fund of 1000 crore ruppes.

But now that 6 years have passed, What happened to Rs 1000 crore Nirbhaya fund? How and how much has been used? Why Nirbhaya case convicts have not been hanged inspite of punishment from court even after 4 years? Why even a high profile case like this has taken seven years and punishment is not executed? We can think of delays in ordinary cases. We know how the victims are treated by police and the perpetrator of crime to intimidate the victims. This tardy system gives a message to the culprits that nothing will happen.

Moreover it is also a social issue. Boys are not given moral education to sensitise them towards gender equality and respect for individual rights neither at home or at school. There exists no mechanism to impart proper and healthy attitudes and respect towards women.

Even parents having young daughters try to protect their sons who are rape convicts at any cost and spare no efforts even unjust. A social change is needed. You may do something on this issue too.

Many are even of the view that if Modi does not take appropriate and noticeable effective action in this regard, he can not win next election unless some other more sentimental issues like winning a war and nationalism happen near elections as it happed this time.
