National Inter-College Crossword 2023 : Omkar of Flame Univ tops last Stage I round
Omkar Joshi of Flame University, Pune, was declared the National Topper of the last scoring round, called E, of the National Inter-College Crossword Expedition (NICE) 2023. He had topped the Practice Round too of the contest before the scoring rounds kicked off.
Omkar is followed in 2nd and 3rd positions by Aashu Singh of the School of Open Learning, Delhi, and Shizna Qureshi of the Acropolis Institute of Technology and Research, Indore, respectively.
In zonal rankings, while Aditya Raj of the National College of Engineering, Chandi, Nalanda (Bihar), has topped the East Zone, Nibedita Debbarma of Ram Thakur College, West Tripura, has clinched the 1st position in the Northeast Zone. Shashwat Sanjeev from Hans Raj College, Delhi, has topped the North Zone and Swathik Kamaraj of IIT Madras is the top performer in South. The West Zone winner is Harshvardhan Tripathi, again from the Acropolis Institute of Technology and Research, Indore.
Round E was the last online round in Stage I of the three-stage contest. A cumulative leaderboard will soon be displayed on www.crypticsingh.com, the hosting website. Top performers will now team up with another member from their institutions to form teams comprising two participants. A maximum of 50 teams from each zone will qualify for Stage II where they will represent their institutions in Zonal Finals in designated cities and institutions.
The schedule will be announced shortly.
Teams clearing the Zonal Finals will clash for the coveted NICE Trophy at the National Finals in the national capital.
NICE 23 is the second edition of the national contest which was inaugurated last year. It is being organized by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, in association with the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai, and Extra-C, a civil society initiative for the promotion of a holistic educational environment
