Musk’s X to Fund legal bills of people ‘unfairly treated’ for posting on platform

San Francisco(USA), 06/08/23: Elon Musk has stated that his X social networking platform will pay legal fees and litigate on behalf of employees who have been treated unfairly by employers as a result of publishing or liking something on the site formerly known as Twitter.

Musk wrote on X late on Saturday, “If you were unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform, we will fund your legal bill.”

Musk later stated in response to a post that nothing changes behaviour in the United States faster than the prospect of legal action. He further wrote, “And we won’t just sue, it will be extremely loud and we will go after the boards of directors of the companies too.”

Musk announced late last month that monthly X users had achieved a “new high,” and he provided a graph showing the newest figure of over 540 million.

The numbers come as the corporation undergoes organisational changes and seeks to increase its dwindling advertising revenue.

It was also the latest in a series of comments from X executives claiming good usage traction following the July 5 introduction of a competing platform dubbed Threads by Meta Platforms.

After 17 years of using an iconic blue bird design that came to symbolise the broadcasting of ideas to the world, Elon Musk renamed Twitter X and debuted a new logo in July, signalling a shift towards establishing an “everything app.”
