BIMTECH Students Celebrate World Mental Health Day 2025 with Engaging Sessions and Street Play
New Delhi, 10 October 2025: Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) took a compassionate step forward to highlight an issue of paramount importance – mental well-being. BIMTECH students celebrated World Mental Health Day 2025 with engaging sessions and a street play, fostering a culture of well-being and holistic learning. As part of its Outreach Initiative on Mental Health, including sessions, street play, games, and a cinema night, the Institute organized a powerful Nukkad Natak titled “Suno Zindagi”, performed by The Cultural Conduit of BIMTECH on 10th October 2025 at Knowledge Park II Metro Station, Greater Noida. The performance aimed not only to entertain but also to cultivate empathy, understanding, and a shared sense of responsibility towards mental health.
According to a World Health Organization report (2025), globally, more than a billion people live with a mental health condition. The need for action on mental health is indisputable and urgent, as it is integral to overall well-being. Suicide prevention is a global priority and forms part of the Sustainable Development Goals. Key strategies include enabling social and emotional well-being and ensuring early intervention. Affordable and effective strategies to promote, protect, and restore mental health are the need of the hour.
As part of World Mental Health Day 2025 initiatives at BIMTECH, Dr. Prabina Rajib, Director, BIMTECH, addressed students with a heartfelt message on navigating the demanding journey of an MBA. She spoke about the constant race of presentations, deadlines, internships, and placements, reminding students that while ambition is essential, it should never come at the cost of inner peace. She emphasized that true leadership lies in emotional steadiness, empathy, and the ability to pause, breathe, and seek help when needed.
Following her inspiring words, the Medical Conduit hosted the session titled “Your Dost”, led by Ms. Jyotsna Sodhi, a seasoned counseling psychologist. With a strong foundation in Psychology from Delhi University and certification in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute, New York, Ms. Sodhi addressed crucial issues such as anxiety, depression, and academic pressure. She encouraged students to normalize conversations around mental health, increase physical activity, champion self-care, and embrace inclusive sensitivity, especially towards those silently struggling. Together, their words offered both guidance and healing — reinforcing that at BIMTECH, mental health is not an afterthought, but a priority.
To conclude the day’s celebrations on a fun and relaxing note, Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) hosted a much-awaited Cinema Night at the Activity Plaza. Students enjoyed the screening of the cult-classic comedy Phir Hera Pheri, alongside a vibrant Stall Street featuring food and product stalls by student entrepreneurs, creating a space for laughter, togetherness, and celebration of creativity.
Through these initiatives, BIMTECH reaffirmed its commitment to holistic education, one that nurtures intellect and empathy in equal measure. As an institution dedicated to shaping socially responsible leaders, BIMTECH continues to emphasize that education must go beyond classrooms and build a culture of mental and emotional wellness.
