40 MEMBERS BUSINESS DELEGATION OF TURKISH COMPANIES TO VISIT INDIA EXPO CENTER & MART ON (FRIDAY) DECEMBER 13, 2013
New Delhi – December 11, 2013 — The 40 members of Turkish Buying delegation is scheduled to visit India Expo Center & Mart on December 13, 2013. The delegation will focus on furniture and home furnishing products. The delegation consists of highly reputed importing companies of Turkey.
The delegation has been invited by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in coordination with State Trading Corporation of India Ltd. (STC) and Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH).
In the past recent years, the importers of Turkey are visiting India and importing huge quantities of said products for consumption in Turkey and adjoining countries. Turkey has also become gateway to European Union and a number of import houses and import distribution companies are working there.
This delegation intends to open its door to Indian exporters and manufacturers and will build the long-term relationship with them.
Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Executive Director – EPCH said that India’s handicrafts export to Turkey is only US $ 22.67 million which is only 1.72% of our handicrafts exports to European Union.
The visit of such delegation would not only help enhance the bilateral trade between two countries but also provide opportunities to Indian exporters to target the Turkish Market which is a gateway to Europe.
