New Delhi : As we are all aware that government of India conducts census after every 10 years. The last one went down in 2011 and 2021 will have the 8th Census of Independent India .
Today, Aadivasi community of India gathered AT Jantar Mantar in the national capital. Almost hundred of Aadivasis came from different parts of India and demanded proper census in 2021 for the Aadivasi community as from past census that were conducted in India, almost half of Aadivasi community was not counted and they are afraid that their community will vanish if this continues further.
Speaking at the protest, National Head of Aadivasi Community Lalu Bhai Vasaava said,
“We have been struggling from past many years to get counted as alive Indian community. Government should itself feel how badly it can impact the history of our nation. We the Aadivasis have a crucial part in the history and our community consists of rituals and lifestyle that is all about respecting nature that is the call for the hour in the society we live in which is facing bad climatic conditions.”
