Actor Luke Kenny, Varun Kapoor attend Delhi School for promoting Zee5 Web Series Fireflies: Paarth aur Jugnu
9th May, New Delhi: Fireflies: Parth Aur Jugnu, the series on Zee5 is receiving a lot of praise for its clean and relatable content. The series is directed by national award winner Hemant Gaba, with Animesh Verma as the showrunner. Produced by Amrit Walia, it is one-of-a-kind web series that marries live-action and animation, and through tales from Indian mythology gives life lessons to misunderstood teens in an entertaining manner.
Luke Kenny who plays a pivotal role in the web series said, “I really liked the way it marries folk lore and contemporary story telling. Though it is essentially a story of teenage kids, it is also about friendship, parenthood and a coming of age tale. Kudos to the Zee5 for green lighting a series like this. It will pave the way for more content that kids and parents would be able to watch and enjoy together.”
“When I heard the script first, I was eager to be part of something that has never been attempted before.” Said Varun Kapoor, while interacting with the media.
“Now when people are liking the web series so much and we are receiving such overwhelming response from everyone, I am a happy soul.” He added.
When asked if his parents have seen the show, Varun said, “in fact my whole family has seen the show. The best part is that everyone can sit together and watch it without any embarrassment.”
Varun, made his Bollywood debut in Gangubai Kathiyawadi as Gangu’s love interest Ramnik Laal, brings in the romance with Zoya Afroz’s as Nyasa.
Renowned mythologist and author Devdutt Pattanaik is the script consultant of the web series and American comic book writer who has worked extensively with DC and Marvel, Ron Marz is the script doctor for this one-of-a-kind Indian fantasy drama.
The show has a talented ensemble. Besides Varun, the cast includes Meet Mukhi, seen in Sony TV’s Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2, who plays Parth, Riva Arora, popular from Colors’ Pavitra Bhagya, Zee’s Dance Bangla Dance Akshat Singh and other child actors Anaya Shivan and Aekam Binjwe. Priyanshu Chatterjee and Vineeta M Joshee play Parth’s parents, while Madhoo Shah is his wise grandmother.
