Greater Noida, 2nd July: Speaking at the Dainik Jagran Education Forum 2022 on Friday, BIMTECH Director Dr. H. Chaturvedi flagged many issues with the New Education Policy 2022.

One of them was allowing non-PhD holders to teach in central universities. “From the last sixty years we have been saying that research and experience is necessary to become a teacher, and after 60 years the UGC says that you can become a teacher without PhD, it is a matter of concern,” he said.

He also criticized the decision to allow students to pursue multiple degrees at the same time.

Further, he raised the issue of lack of allocation to the education sector and the issue of state govt universities teachers’ not getting salaries as per the 7th pay commission. “Without 6% budgetary allocation to education, India would not be able to exploit its potential,” he said.

In his address, Dr. Chaturvedi also called for faster implementation of NEP and better cooperation between state and central govt over the policy.
