Amid worsening air quality, SRL Diagnostics launches comprehensive pollution test packages in Delhi NCR
New Delhi, 5th November 2019: Analyzing the rising levels of pollution in Delhi-NCR, which is likely to remain same in the upcoming weeks, SRL Diagnostics has launched Pollution Test Packages to check one’s body’s readiness against the profound threat of pollution. The 4 packages, Pollution Care Basic, Pollution Care Basic+, Pollution Care Advance, and Pollution Care Advance+ have been made available across Delhi-NCR. The packages will cost Rs 1699 onwards.
According to WHO, air pollution can cause diseases like ischaemic heart disease, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and acute lower respiratory infections in children. The most obvious advice is to avoid stepping out or indulging in outdoor activities. However, it is also very important to understand how prepared our bodies are to face pollution.
Through these tests, one can get a fair idea on the functioning of organs like lung, heart, etc., which have the maximum exposure and are affected the most due to pollution. The results will indicate how well they will be able to cope up with the alarming pollution levels. The tests are ideal for Individuals with low immunity, allergies, and respiratory disorders and will guide them if they need any further precautions or treatment.
Speaking about the need to launch these packages, Arindam Haldar, CEO, SRL Diagnostics said, “We, at SRL Diagnostics, have always been the forerunners in educating our customers to lead a healthy lifestyle. As the air quality in Delhi-NCR has plunged to hazardous levels again and is forecasted to remain severe in the days ahead, a lot of people have started facing severe health issues. It is critical to get yourself tested to find out how prepared are your organs at this time when pollution is at its peak in Delhi-NCR.”
Notably, for some time, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi NCR is being measured constantly above 400, which is considered severe. An AQI between 0-50 is considered ‘good’, 51-100 ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 ‘moderate’, 201-300 ‘poor’, 301-400 ‘very poor’, and 401-500 ‘severe’. Above 500 is ‘severe-plus emergency’ category.
The pollution care BASIC package will include tests like Glucose fasting, CBC, ESR, Vitamin D, Pulmonary function tests, ECG, Serum IgE, etc., whereas the ADVANCE package will include all the BASIC package tests with addition of Creatinine serum, lipid profile, hs-CRP tests and an advanced allergy screening test-Phadiatop.
