The judgment on distribution of Cauvery waters mainly between Karnataka and Tamilnadu was expected as the case was lingering on for a very long time. But no one expected that the reaction to the judgment will be that strong and take an ugly turn to the extent of burning and damaging even buses which are required daily. One wonders as to who are the persons behind such provocations that they do not think about nation while carrying out agitations or demonstrations. So much of loss has been created in one day that it will take years to compensate that and during the period their own people will suffer. It clearly shows that the persons who were on the spree to burn everything which came on their way were anti nationals. Such people should be dealt with strictly. Moreover it is also appears that the administration was totally ineffective and was in tune with the demonstrators to the effect that even 15000 police force found it difficult to contain them specially to protect Tamil majority areas.
How can people be allowed to take law into their own hands and damage property and cause national loss. They must realize that the Supreme Court orders are supreme and has to be obeyed but can be challenged in the court and not on the roads. Moreover they must realize that their such unjustified actions will create reactions in other State and they may too create problems for the people of their State staying in Tamilnadu which did happen at some places. The Govts should take suitable action to curb such activities with strong hand so that national property is not damaged anywhere and points at dispute are amicably solved.
