New Delhi (India), 12th May 2023: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) issued a FIR on Thursday against ONGC’s former Deputy General Manager (DGM) and others in connection with a forgery case, an official said.

Bijoy Kumar Shaw, the ex-DGM, Eashitva Tamuly, Contractual Medical Officer (Occupational Health), ONGC, Jorhat (Assam), and Jadumoni Hazarika, proprietor of Kiran Physiotherapy Clinic, have all been charged in the matter.

It has been claimed that they generated requisition papers for physiotherapy in the names of retired beneficiaries of ONGC health facilities and their families, as well as beneficiaries who had died, without their knowledge.

As per the CBI, Hazarika submitted phoney and bogus bills, which Shaw verified and certified, resulting in a fraudulent payment of Rs 19,15,080 to Kiran Physiotherapy Clinic.

CBI started that searches were conducted at the premises of the accused in seven locations, including Guwahati, Jorhat (in Assam), and Dehradun (in Uttarakhand), resulting in the discovery of various incriminating items.
