At NAEC event, Officials share growth, investment opportunities for Noida’s Apparel Exporters

New Delhi (India), April 13, 2023: The Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC) under the leadership of its president Lalit Thukral recently hosted the “Partnership of Progress for the City of Apparel” program on April 12, 2023, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Noida.

This event brought together a host of prominent individuals, including former Union Minister and Lok Sabha MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Special Secretary to the Uttar Pradesh Government Sheshmani Pandey, OSDs from both the Noida and Yamuna Authorities, to encourage apparel exporters and discuss the industry’s future growth.

During his keynote address, Dr. Mahesh Sharma commended the apparel exporters for their role in contributing to the Chief Minister’s ambitious trillion-dollar economy. He also reflected on the significant progress that the city of Noida has made over the past 40 years, highlighting how apparel exporters have played a vital role in transforming Noida into the thriving hub that it is today.

NAEC President Lalit Thukral emphasized that the Chief Minister’s vision of a one trillion dollar economy would not be fulfilled without everyone’s support, and he thanked the Noida and Greater Noida authorities, as well as ICICI Bank, for their contributions to this vision. He also acknowledged the significant role played by Noida Authority’s CEO, Ritu Maheshwari, in transforming the city’s image from “No Idea” to “New Idea.”

Other speakers at the event included OSDs from both the Noida and Yamuna authorities, who emphasized the importance of the apparel sector in generating employment and driving economic growth.

The Yamuna Authority’s OSD, Shailendra Bhatia, noted that the government’s focus is not solely on generating revenue but on creating employment opportunities for rural communities and women. He also shared plans for the upcoming Jewar Airport, which will be equipped with cutting-edge technology and situated adjacent to the apparel park.

Overall, the “Partnership of Progress for the City of Apparel” program served as an important platform for encouraging and supporting apparel exporters as they continue to play a vital role in driving India’s economic growth.

The event also featured a discussion on several issues related to exporters. Representatives from ICICI Bank were present to assure all possible help in investment matters.

Towards the end of the event, U.P Govt’s Special Secretary Sheshmani Pandey gave a presentation on upcoming PM MITRA (Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) in Lucknow and encouraged the exporters to invest in this ambitious project. The Special secretary also signed a MoU with a young entrepreneur for an investment of Rs. 100 crore in the project.
