New Delhi (India), March 26, 2023: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched a scathing attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Congress party’s day-long satyagraha in Rajghat on Sunday.

The event was held in protest of her brother, Rahul Gandhi’s, disqualification from the Lok Sabha. In her speech, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being a “coward” and emphasized that all proud kings are eventually defeated in Hindu culture.

The Congress leader also brought up various instances of alleged insult and disrespect towards her family members by BJP leaders. She stated that her father, Rajiv Gandhi, was insulted in Parliament; her mother, Sonia Gandhi, was insulted by a BJP minister; and one of the BJP chief ministers had questioned Rahul Gandhi’s paternity.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also criticized the BJP’s treatment of her family as “parivarvadi” (dynastic), asking if Lord Ram and the Pandavas were also “parivarvadi” for standing up for their families.

Furthermore, she highlighted the alleged unfair treatment of Rahul Gandhi, stating that he was labeled “Pappu” by the media despite having studied at prestigious institutions and that the case against him was reopened after his speech on Adani.

Priyanka also raised concerns over the threat to democracy when the government bars an opposition leader from contesting elections for eight years.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra concluded her speech by urging the media to wake up to the dangers facing democracy and expressing confidence that this event marked a turning point. “My family taught me that this country speaks with heart. I know today is the day everything will be different,” she said. Her strong words against the ruling party drew applause from the crowd at the satyagraha.
